Long Island Railroad fishing excursion fares brought visitors to the Montauk docks in Fort Pond Bay, where they scrambled to find places on their favorites "head" boats for the day. The rail road advertised refrigerator cars so that successful anglers could return home to western Long Island and New York City with their catches.
