This year’s parade was earlier, shorter, and some said better than ones in previous years, but there were still plenty of revelers. One, clad in a green bathrobe and standing in front of a closed bar, may have been offering his commentary on the early hour. The Montauk Indian Museum float won first prize, while the Mickettes, family and friends of the parade’s grand marshal, Mickey Valcich, took second. Towed behind a truck bearing an “Amagansett Planking Squad” banner, two women on a plastic sled kept their partying close to the pavement. Joe Bloecker and Jack, John, and Samantha Behan posed with the grand marshal at a lunch in his honor at Gurney’s Inn on Friday afternoon.
